Will Lil Uzi Vert drop a new album in 2026? "Um, sure," they say in a new interview with DAZED.

The interview, which took place in December, opens with Lil Uzi Vert arriving to the photoshoot playing 2Slimey on a Bluetooth speaker. "2slimey took the end of 2025," Uzi said of the emerging OKC noise rapper. "I can’t even think about nobody else."

Uzi says they don't feel pressure to drop music, but that they were, "being selfish for a long time, holding my music and shit. I’m like, ‘What if I just wake up and die? Who’s gonna drop my music for me if I’m dead?’"

Other highlights include details on Uzi's relationship (they do all the cooking at home; they get nervous when JT asks to hear their music) and their favorite skateboarders (Ryan Sheckler and Rob Dyrdek).

"I like the skaters that all skaters hate, because it’s more up my alley. I like the rich skaters, not the broke ones," Uzi explains. "I like Lizard King, though. Shoutout Bam, too"

Uzi has been steadily dropping new music in recent months, teasing a followup to their late 2024 album Eternal Atake 2. At the tail end of November they inked a new distribution deal with Roc Nation before putting out a trio of great new rap singles, "Chanel Boy," "Relevant," and "Regular."

Just before Christmas, they released the more dance-oriented "What You Saying," which arrived with a star-studded music video and has been steadily climbing the charts since. Check that out below.
