It was announced this week that Bad Bunny will headline the halftime show at Superbowl LX, due to take place in February next year. The performance is likely to be his only live appearance on U.S. soil for the forseeable future, having previously stated that he had avoided playing in North America in the past year as a way of safeguarding fans from the oppressive anti-immigration policy of the current regime.

As if to underline his very point, Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said in a podcast interview this week that ICE agents will be on patrol in Santa Clara, California, where the Super Bowl is scheduled to take place.

“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else” Lewandowski told Benny Johnson on The Benny Show when he was asked if “ICE will have enforcement at the Super Bowl for the Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime.”

“We will find you, we will apprehend you, we will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you,” Lewandowski continued. “So know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to how it used to be.”

Lewandowski also described the decision to select Bad Bunny as the halftime performer “shameful” and suggested that the Puerto Rican artist seems to “hate America.” He went on to add that ICE's mission to “make Americans safe” and told anyone in the U.S.A. illegally to “do yourself a favor: Go home.”
