Charli xcx and The 1975 drummer George Daniel finally tied the knot in London in a small, intimate gathering on July 19, nearly two years after announcing their engagement. They will host a second, larger celebration later this year in Sicily, The Sun reports.

The pair were collaborators long before making their relationship official. In 2021, Charli and The 1975 were both featured in No Rome’s “Spinning,” which Daniel also worked on as a producer. The following year, Daniel was a writer and producer on Charli’s fifth album, Crash, which was released shortly before Charli seemingly confirmed their relationship on a since-deleted Instagram post.

After being spotted at numerous events throughout 2023, Charli announced their engagement on Instagram in November 2023. She shared images of the ring and captioned the now-deleted post, “charli xcx and george daniel f–king for life!!!”

Charli opened up about the pair’s ideal wedding in an interview with Howard Stern earlier this year. “We're both very chill and we kind of just want to have a party,” she said. “Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever. We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends.”

If you're planning your own wedding and need ideas, read on to learn how you can crib some of the key elements from Charli and George's, from the intimate ceremony to the after party.

1. Get married at a town hall

The small wedding ceremony was held at around 4 PM at Hackney Town Hall. Charli wore a short veil and an off-the-shoulder mini corset dress by Vivienne Westwood, while Daniel opted for a double-breasted dark blue suit with a white boutonniere.

2. Eat at a nearby restaurant down the street

The pair walked from the town hall to a nearby Italian restaurant. Charli donned her signature black chunky sunglasses as the pair sat outside, enjoying drinks and a cigarette.

“Her and George wanted to keep it very cool, so they shunned cars and walked down Hackney High Street to get to Dalla,” a source told The Sun. “The restaurant had closed for them and they had a massive family style meal with loads of pasta and champagne.”

3. Hold a reception at London's trendiest bar with trays of cigarettes and a social media ban

The couple stopped by their hotel before the after party, which was held at Ellie’s, a popular bar known for £8 martinis that opened in May. Charli changed into her second look of the day, a white minidress from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. Daniel switched his formal outfit for a gray silk shirt.

The insider revealed that the party lasted until 4 AM. “Once inside Charli and George had laid on a free bar and there were trays of cigarettes lying around for the smokers. There was a ‘no social media policy’ so no one posted any of the pictures from the reception online,” they said.

4. Post on TikTok, eventually

On July 20, Charli gave fans a closer look at the day on social media, as E News notes. She shared a video of herself participating in a popular TikTok trend that uses her song, “Girl, so confusing.” In the post, filmed while wearing her first wedding look, she walks towards the camera under the words, "when george isn't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle” (the caption clarified that the drummer did in fact tear up during the ceremony).

She also shared another TikTok, presumably filmed at the hotel, captioned “bridal party energy!” In the video, which is set to Far East Movement's “Like A G6,” Daniel wears Charli’s veil and Charli poses by flowing curtains as their friends (including The Dare) have fun for the camera.
