Paragon is back from the dead. After shuttering its doors in April, the beloved Brooklyn venue is set to reopen on August 1, thanks to new investment from Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson. Saunderson, who was born in Brooklyn, will join Paragon as a partner and the venue's newest resident DJ, per a press release.

Saunderson is a legend in the dance scene as one-third of The Belleville Three, the Detroit trio largely credited for inventing techno music, and one-half of the chart-topping dance supergroup Inner City. He'll be kicking off his Paragon residency on August 1, the club's reopening night where he'll be joined behind the decks by Carlos Souffront, Discwoman's Ashley Venom, coyado, and Ukrainian DJ Ana B.

“Coming back to Brooklyn, where my story started, and bringing what Detroit gave me — it feels like a full-circle moment. Clubs like the Paradise Garage and the Loft shaped my soul, and now Paragon gives me the chance to give that energy back to a new generation,” Saunderson said in a statement.

Paragon will still be managed by its original team put together by founder John Barclay, who also owns the nearby Bossa Nova Civic Club.

To celebrate it's return, Paragon has announced a month of "resurrection" shows throughout August, with sets from Augustus Muller, WTCHCRFT, SoFTT, Joey Beltram, Uniiqu3, Eli Escobar, and more. See the full schedule below.
