Billboards loosely linked to Frank Ocean have been spotted on the route to the Coachella festival site, sparking rumors that he may have new music set to drop. Fans have connected a billboard displaying the message “KIKI BOY 2025” to private Instagram account, @kikiboyyyyyyy, that some believe belongs to Ocean.
According to Rolling Stone, Instagram has confirmed that the account was launched in March of this year. Access to the account of exclusive, just eight people are listed as followers with Ocean's main account, @Blonded, one of them. SZA is also one of the eight followers, as are audio engineer Sean Matsukawa and rising bedroom pop vocalist girlsweetvoiced. Michael Uzowuru, who has worked with Ocean in the past, is also on the list. Some fans have speculated that the account could belong to him, not Ocean. Speaking last year, Uzowuru said he and Ocean had recently been working on new music together in Miami.
Of course, this is the point where any seasoned Frank Ocean fan steps back and takes pause. The almost 9 years since Blonde was released have been filled with speculation and false starts. A billboard and a finsta account aren't enough to forget all of that. That doesn't stop the rumor mill from griding into action though. It was only a few weeks ago that fans discovered an unreleased song in a YouTube video uploaded by mixed martial artist Payton Talbott. Back in 2023, meanwhile, a collaboration with Rosalía leaked online.
Ocean has history with Coachella and last performed at the festival in 2023. It was an ill-fated performance that was marred by production and curfew issues. An ankle injury meant he was unable to perform at the second weekend of that year's event, with blink-182 stepping in to replace him.
More recently it was confirmed that Ocean has begun production on his directorial debut. The as-yet-untitled movie stars Industry actor David Jonsson and began shooting in Mexico City earlier this year.
