A year ago it was confirmed that the movie biopic industrial complex was going into overdrive with four Beatles movies, one from the perspective of each band member, were coming from director Sam Mendes. Speculation immediately began as to who would play the Fab Four and now we have the confirmed lineup.
As revealed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday, Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan is Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn is George Harrison, while Harris Dickinson will take on the role of John Lennon.
All four cast members took the stage at CinemaCon where IndieWire reports they each quoted a line from “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band:” “It’s wonderful to be here, It’s certainly a thrill, You’re such a lovely audience, We’d like to take you home with us.”
Mendes was also at the event where he revealed that all four films will hit theaters the same month, in April 2028. The director called it the first “bingeable” moviegoing experience and said that there is a specific order to watch the movies, but declined to say what it is.
All four actors in the movies have previously been rumored or leaked prior to Monday's confirmation. Ringo Starr confirmed Keoghan would be portraying him back in November. Director Ridley Scott, meanwhile, also let slip that Mescal would be playing McCartney while they were promoting last year's Gladiator II.
