Whenever Bernie Sanders kicks into campaign mode, you can be sure that he'll bring some great musicians along with him. In the lead up to the 2020 Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders hosted events that featured performances from Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Soccer Mommy, The Strokes, and Public Enemy. He's also interviewed Cardi B, and was the beneficiary of an indie rock compilation supporting his candidacy.
Fast forward to 2025 and things feel more dire than the preceding years ever did, but that just means the music has to be louder. And as Stereogum points out, Bernie, who's criss-crossing the USA on his "Fight Oligarchy" tour, has a band for you: opening for him on March 8 at Lincoln High School in Warren, Michigan are none than The Armed, the Detroit heavy rock collective who graced The FADER's cover in 2023.
Doors are at 2:30, with the Armed performing at 3 before speakers take the stage at 4.RSVP here if you wanna go, and be careful in the pit: healthcare isn't free yet!
