The California wildfires have officially entered their eighth day, and already the devastating infernos have engulfed over 40,000 acres in the greater Los Angeles area, destroying over 12,000 structures and killing at least 24 people, with those numbers expected to rise. The region is in dire need of consistent funding, and with Republicans likely to start a prolonged political fight by placing conditions on aid, there's no telling how long public donations will be required.

On Tuesday, I got a press release for a new music compilation benefitting Los Angeles, released the same day. 2025 LA Fire Relief Comp is a 16-track collection of new and rare music featuring great artists like They Are Gutting A Body of Water (the Philly underground rock band that we're watching closely this year), Shower Curtain, and more. All proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, an organization distributing meals to those affected by the fires. Listen below and purchase on Bandcamp for $5.
