Megan Thee Stallion is granted Tory Lanez restraining order
A judge agrees with Megan’s claim that Lanez has been harassing her from prison.
A judge in Los Angeles has granted Megan Thee Stallion a restraining order against Tory Lanez after she alleged the musician has been harassing her while he serves a 10 year sentence for shooting her multiple times in 2020.
At a court hearing on Thursday, Judge Richard Bloom officially granted the request, per Rolling Stone. The restraining order will be in effect for five years. It replaces a previous protective order issued by the court that had expired.
Megan testified in court via a video link, telling Bloom. “I want my restraining order because I haven’t been at peace since I [was] shot” and “I’m just a nervous wreck all the time.”
In her original petition, filed in December 2024, Megan described Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) as a “violent and dangerous criminal” and claimed he is employing online "bloggers" to cast doubt on her recollection of the shooting incident while he is in prison.
In December 2022 Lanez was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. A judge rejected a motion for a new trial from Lanez’s lawyers, who are appealing his conviction.
