Destroyer announces new album and share new song “Bologna”
Dan’s Boogie is due out in March.
Dan Bejar has announced his next Destroyer album. Dan's Boogie is out March 28 via Merge. The announcement of the follow-up to 2022’s Labyrinthitis comes alongside the new single “Bologna” and its David Galloway–directed music video. Watch it, and find the album’s artwork and tracklist, below.
“Bologna” is billed as the the first Destroyer song song Bejar has written in which he imagines himself as a supporting character. The narrative is lead by Fiver’s Simone Schmidt, who appears on the song and in the accompanying video.
“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” Bejar said in a statement. “I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.”
Destroyer will open for Father John Misty on the road next month and are also confirmed to perform at Primavera 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. See below for their upcoming shows.
