Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a restraining order against Tory Lanez
Lawyers working for Megan claim Lanez “continues to terrorize” her from behind bars.
Megan Thee Stallion has filed for a restraining order against Tory Lanez, who she alleges is harassing her from prison as he serves a 10-year sentence for shooting her.
Associated Press reports that Megan (real name Megan Pete)'s legal counsel filed a 194-page document in Los Angeles superior court on Tuesday (December 17) in which they claim that Lanez “continues to terrorize Ms. Pete” and that a protective order put in place in 2020 expired last year, leaving her “without protection at a time where she needs it most.”
The legal document describes Lanez (aka Daystar Peterson) as a “violent and dangerous criminal” with an “established pattern of behavior [demonstrating] the reasons this civil harassment restraining order is necessary to protect Ms. Pete and her wellbeing.”
It also contains allegations that Lanez is employing online "bloggers" to cast doubt on her recollection of the shooting incident while he is in prison. One blogger is named in the document as Elizabeth Milagro Cooper, who Megan sued for harassment in October, and now describes as Lanez's "puppet and mouthpiece."
In December 2022 Lanez was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. A judge rejected a motion for a new trial from Lanez’s lawyers, who are appealing his conviction.
