Bear1Boss, a fervent devotee of Atlanta rap’s hypercolor energy, is back with SUPER BOSS!, his first new project of 2024. The 11-track tape comes after a prolific 2023 which saw Bear release four full-length projects: Blow Up!, ACt &Bear1Beezy (made with fellow Atlantean UnoTheActivist), Lil hotsauce, and Glacier Guru.
Along with the tape, Bear has shared the music video for “Conscious,” a collaboration with SoFaygo, another Atlanta artist who’s signed to Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack label. The visuals depict both rappers in a blocky, pastel-colored bathhouse — something about the colors and the style of the video gives me very strong “millennial-targeted YouTube ad for a bidet attachment” vibes.
