Baby Keem has announced the release of a forthcoming visual for his debut studio album, 2021's The Melodic Blue.
The California-born rapper dropped the album two years ago through his older cousin Kendrick Lamar's "multi-lingual, at-service company," pgLang, a multidisciplinary production house. Keeping with that mission, Baby Keem has since teamed up with director Savannah Setten — who worked on his “No Sense” music video — to create a surreal short film around The Melodic Blue.
Also produced in collaboration with Lamar and his longtime collaborator, Dave Free, the video stars Bodies, Bodies, Bodies actress Amandla Stenberg alongside Baby Keem. A press release states that the film will focus on an "internal battle [led] through fragments of memory and temptation as he navigates the depths of The Melodic Blue."
The Melodic Blue short film will be released on December 5 via Prime Video. In the meantime, The FADER has reached out to representatives for Baby Keem, pgLang, and Prime Video for more details.
