Japanese Breakfast appeared on The Late Show on Wednesday to perform "Kokomo, IN." The song appears on the group’s 2021 LP Jubilee. Michelle Zauner, dressed in a bright yellow dress, was backed by her band and a string section for the performance with the stage also being filled with an array of bright sunflowers. In addition to performing, Zauner also met Anderson Cooper backstage and shared a snap of them together on Instagra. Check that and the performance out below.
Crying In H Mart, Zauner's best-selling memoir, is being turned into a movie, which The White Lotus star Will Sharpe will direct. Earlier this year Zauner put out a call for auditions to play her in the screen adaptation, asking "Who will play Ms Breakfast?"
Late night TV shows including The Late Show returned to screens this week after the WGA strike came to an end late last month. Colbert welcomed Boygenius to perform on Tuesday night.
