Blink-182 are the Ramones in “Dance With Me” video
The new song is the fourth single from Blink’s next album, One More Time…
Blink-182 have shared the fourth single from their ninth studio album, One More Time… “Dance With Me” arrives in the wake of pre-announcement offering “Edging,” as well as “More Than You Know” and the project’s title track.
The new song is straight-ahead pop-punk fare, featuring a hook that quotes Buster Poindexter’s “Hot Hot Hot” but doesn’t sound much like it at all. It arrives alongside a music video that a press release describes as “a love letter to the Ramones.” Directed by The Malloys, the short film finds Blink recreating some of the punk pioneers’ most iconic interviews and photo shoots. Even still, the sense of humor that runs through the clip is decidedly Blink’s. (The antics begin with a flustered interview asking the band about “the statement that kind of moves us into [their] new hit,” at which point the video cuts to said statement: “When I teach masturbation, I’m always just like, ‘Have fun with it.’”) Watch it above.
One More Time… is due out October 20 via Viking Wizard Eyes. It will be the first Blink album to feature their full core lineup — Mark Hoppus (bass, vocals), Tom DeLonge (guitar, vocals), and Travis Barker (drums), since 2011’s Neighborhoods, after which DeLonge left the band to become a UFO expert.
