Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker have shared details of Little Rope, their 11th album as Sleater-Kinney. The new project from the indie-rock legends arrives on January 19. Its first single, “Hell,” is out now and comes with a black-and-white music video directed by Ashley Connor and starring Miranda July. Watch it below.

Little Rope will follow 2021’s Path of Wellness. The band’s new album was partially created after Brownstein’s mother and step-father were killed in a car accident during a vacation in Italy. Sleater-Kinney recorded Little Hell at Flora Recording and Playback in Portland, Oregon; the project was produced by John Congleton. Little Hell is the band’s second album without Janet Weiss since reuniting in 2014. Weiss, who played with the band since 1997, left the group just before the release of The Center Won’t Hold in 2019.

Sleater-Kinney will play two shows this year before heading off on an extensive North American tour in February 2024. Find the full itinerary below; tickets go on sale this Friday, October 6 on Sleater-Kinney’s website at 10 a.m. local time.
