Lala Lala is sharing her first song of the year, "Hit Me Where It Hurts." It's her first offering since her 2022 single "Memory." The nostalgia-inducing track is reminiscent of a song you'd hear on an '80s rom-com soundtrack, delivering the artist's smooth vocals over cinematic synths and a simple drum pattern.
The singer-songwriter earnestly longs for her lover in the track's lyrics, accepting that she'd rather be with them even if it causes pain. "Don't make me wait / Hit me where it hurts / Or something even worse," she sings in the hook.
"'Hit Me Where It Hurts,' is about destruction and impatience," Lala Lala said in a press statement. "I wanted the song to sound blown out and desperate." Listen to it below.
