Joy Orbison releases anticipated early tracks in archive 09-10
The EP compiles five of his most “sought-after” songs.

Joy Orbison has shared five archival tracks from over ten years ago in a new EP. archive 09-10 includes a selection of demos, vinyl-only drops, and swapped mp3s that fans have long been waiting for. The songs were first heard alongside his early releases, including his highly-acclaimed debut single "Hyph Mngo" as well as "Wet Look," "The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow," and "So Derobe."
In a press statement, Joy Orbison said that the songs in the new collection were written in a bedroom studio in a Soho apartment and his childhood room in his parent's house. "I’m not even sure what the plan was really," he wrote. "I was useless at my (painfully simple) job and I guess this was an escape from that. I had mucked about on Fruityloops and Cubase for years but I think this was the first time I had a bit of a direction or sound. my only goal was to get one of my tracks played on Hessle Audio’s Sub FM show, that was literally it."
Some of the songs have been unofficially available on YouTube for years. Now, all of the songs from archive 09-10 are available for streaming for the very first time in celebration of Joy Orbison's 37th birthday. "Sometimes it’s ok to look back," he wrote in the statement. "But keep your ears peeled for what’s coming next."
