A reboot of The Office is reportedly in the works
The hit American sitcom may be returning with original showrunner Greg Daniels.
A reboot of NBC's The Office is on the way, Puck News reports. Greg Daniels, the hit sitcom's original showrunner, is returning to develop the show as the Writer's Guild of America is poised to end its months-long strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
No further details about the reboot were immediately available, but it's safe to say that it will be one of the most closely scrutinized programs if it eventually returns. The original version of the show, a remake of the cult U.K. comedy series, debuted in 2005 and ran for nine seasons. A critical and commercial success, the show won four Primetime Emmy Awards and helped launch the careers of Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, and Craig Robinson.
