For a second there, it looked like Noname fans might be indefinitely denied the follow-up to Room 25. Last month, the Chicago rapper considered scrapping the release of new LP Sundial after the negative response to an announced Jay Electronica feature. But now it looks like we’ll be getting Sundial this month — barring any other online controversies — and Noname has kept up the benevolent streak with the announcement of a block party in her hometown.
Following the August 11 release of Sundial, the Sundial Block Party will take place in Chicago on August 17 from 3pm to 8pm. The event will feature performances from Navy Blue, Alex Vaughn, and Noname herself, plus DJ sets from DJ Greensllime and Finding Ijeoma. Entry is free with a suggested book donation, which will go to the incarcerated members of the Noname Book Club. See below for more information about the event’s book requests.
