Fresh off of an excellent performance as the wily and wounded Xander in HBO's only slightly maligned drama series The Idol, Troye Sivan returns to his pop career today with "Rush." The song is Sivan's lead single from his upcoming third album Something To Give Each Other, out October 14.

The new song is a Balearic disco number that, in fitting with Sivan's pop career thus far, feels like a bespoke version of contemporary radio sounds. Gordon von Steiner's music video takes a few cinematographic nods from Claire Denis' Beau Travail in its visualization of the song's celebration of queer love.

In a statement, Sivan writes: “‘Rush’ is the feeling of kissing a sweaty stranger on a dancefloor, a two-hour date that turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. Party after party, after party after after party. All of my experiences from a chapter where I feel confident, free and liberated. Independent, yet somehow the most connected to the music and community around me.”
