The Weeknd teases The Idol finale with Lil Baby collaboration “False Idols”
The controversial HBO show concludes its first season this Sunday.
The Weeknd has shared two new songs from The Idol ahead of this Sunday's season one finale. "Like A God" and Lil Baby collaboration "False Idols" are streaming below.
Songs from The Idol, which tells the story of fictional pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) and seedy nightclub owner Tedros (The Weeknd/ Abel Tesfaye), have been released weekly while the show has aired on HBO. Among these tracks have been Depp's "World Class Sinner / I’m a Freak" and "Popular," a Weeknd track featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti.
Earlier this week there was some confusion over the upcoming The Idol season finale, which will bring the first season to a close after five episodes. When the show was first ordered back in 2021 it was done so for six episodes. However, that plan is believed to have changed during extensive production changes made while making the show, which included replacing director Amy Seimetz with co-creator Sam Levinson. HBO has not yet clarified whether there will be a second season of the show.
