Madeline Kenney journeys into the unknown on “I Drew A Line”
It’s the second single from A New Reality Mind, which Kenney will be touring in support of this fall.
Madeline Kenney wrote her upcoming album A New Reality Mind, after a breakup, but the singles she's released so far don't linger on the gory details. "Superficial Conversation," which we named a Song You Need, focuses on finding peace in the aftermath, and now "I Drew A Line" continues to explore the same uncharted emotional territory.
"When I went through a breakup I realized that the story I had been living out was much different in the plain light of day than what I had constructed out of fantasy," Kenney says in a press release. That journey into the unknown is mirrored by the song's production: saxophones and a retro sci-fi polyrhythmic bounce that instantly brings to mind FADER fave Kate NV.
Kenney has also announced a tour behind her new album which will kick off this August in Portland. Check out the dates and watch the playful music video for "I Drew A Line" below. A New Reality Mind is out July 28 via Carpark Records.
