Lil Uzi Vert is a longtime Paramore stan, having professed their love for the band as far back as 2017. Last night in New York they got to live out their dreams when they joined Hayley Williams and co. on stage during their song "Misery Business." You can see a clip of the celebratory moment above.
Paramore's Madison Square Garden was part of their current headline tour of North America. "[We’ve been] talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person. I love you," Williams said to Uzi after they arrived onstage. "You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore, so can we do this bridge again together? And then we’re gonna melt their faces off. Alright? New York City, are you ready? Here we go!"
Back in 2020, Williams revealed that she had turned down a collaboration with Uzi because she was reluctant to expose herself to a different level of fame than the one she currently operated at.
"I remember too Uzi asking me to do some stuff with him and I know that fans are going to be so pissed at me for saying this,” she told Apple Music's Zane Lowe, “but I literally wrote him back on Instagram and I was like, ‘Buddy, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous.’"
Previously on their current tour, Williams had to stop a show to break up a fracas in the audience. Lil Uzi Vert, meanwhile, recently appeared on new tracks with Snow Strippers and Veeze.
