Noel Gallagher has been in the news again for things having nothing to with his music. In a recent SPIN interview, he called Matty Healy a “fucking slack-jawed fuckwit”, responding to the1975 frontman’s plea for an Oasis reunion.
In the midst of all this brouhaha, Gallagher and his High Flying Birds have been been consistently releasing songs in advance of their new record, Council Skies. Single number five is “Open The Door, See What You Find,” featuring former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, whose playing adds a pleasant layer of jangle to the mix. For those of us still dying for an Oasis comeback (although that’s not looking likely), “Open The Door” may not be much, but it’s the best we’ve got.
