Miley Cyrus might never tour again
A tour doesn’t sound like a huge priority for the pop star.
Miley Cyrus may have one of 2023's biggest hit songs with "Flowers," but don't expect the pop star to embark on a tour to promote it. In a new Vogue profile, the pop star, who just released her new album Endless Summer Vacation, said that she wasn't immediately interested in breaking a near decade-long hiatus from touring.
“After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014]," Cyrus said, "I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t. Not only ‘can’t’... because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?" Giles Hattersley, the profile's author, adds that "[S]he’s not sure she can do it anymore; certainly not in the foreseeable."
Though the decision may seem counterintuitive to some, earlier in the article, Cyrus reflects on her resurgent popularity and her preference for a low-key career. “A lot of headlines [recently] have said, ‘This is Miley’s moment.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s exactly what it is. It’s a moment. And it will be over.. That’s honest and that’s OK with me. I actually prefer it. I don’t like to stay big.”
