One of the big movies due for release this summer is Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The animated movie is the sequel to 2018's Into the Spider-Verse, one of the best animated movies of the past few years. That movie also boasted a great soundtrack, with Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower" becoming a huge hit off the back of its use in the film.
It looks like the music in the upcoming movie is in good hands, with the news that Metro Boomin will oversee the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack in his role as executive producer. The project is due out on June 2, the same day the movie hits theaters.
There are no further details at the time of writing, though a press release notes that the producer "has assembled a cast of musical superheroes" to feature alongside him. Posting about the album on Instagram, Metro wrote: "I’m excited to share this album with the world!! 🌍🕷️🕸️🤯😤😤😤."
Last year Metro Boomin released Heroes & Villains, which features the single "Creepin'" with 21 Savage and The Weeknd. The album came with a short film that featured cameo appearances from Young Thug and Gunna.
