Jim Legxacy’s HNPM mixtape is here
The London-based producer and vocalist shares his latest project.
Jim Legxacy has dropped his new mixtape HNPM (short for Homeless N***a Pop Music). The London-born producer, rapper, and singer has caught attention in the past year with a collection of songs that effortlessly blend U.K. rap, emo, and afrobeats influences into one coherent sound. Many of those songs appear on the new tape, including "Old Place," "hit it light it twist it." and "Eye Tell (!)" (one of The FADER's best songs of 2022).
Alongside the previously released material are a host of new songs, including "amnesia111" and "miley’s riddim." The latter features samples lifted from Nigerian music streaming service Iroking.com and Miley Cyrus’ “Ordinary Girl.”
HNPM follows Jim's two longer form projects, Dynasty and 2021's Citadel. In a statement accompanying the release, Jim describes the project as, "a collection of all the songs & songs i started whilst i was homeless. thank u for everyone that gave me a place to sleep, record and create."
