Brazilian pop star Anitta, best known for her songs "Envolver" and "Downtown," has split from her label, Warner Music Group. Billboard first reported the news, which comes a month after she claimed she would have “auctioned off her organs” to get out of the deal.

Anitta and Warner released a joint statement on Tuesday, which reads: “After eleven years of successful partnership, we’ve agreed to go our separate ways. Anitta would like to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta all the best in the future.”

Last year Anitta released her most recent album Versions Of Me via Warner Music. She first signed with the American arm of the label in 2020, having being signed to Warner Music Brazil since 2013.

Anitta made issues between herself and her label public in March, expressing frustration with what she perceived as a bad deal. “If there was a fine to pay, I would have already auctioned off my organs, no matter how expensive it was to get out. But unfortunately, there isn’t,” she tweeted. “When you’re young and still don’t know a lot, you need to pay close attention to the things you sign… if you don’t, you could spend a lifetime paying for the mistake.”

Billboard notes that Anitta also complained about her label in May of last year. In an Instagram livestream, she claimed she could not get a video made for one of her songs until it was deemed a hit on streaming platforms. “They only invest after it pays off on the internet,” she told viewers. “Unfortunately, there are things I can’t get, that’s why I don’t buy millionaire cars, because when I want to do something, I pay for it.”
