Daft Punk and Todd Edwards share previously unreleased track
“The Writing of Fragments of Time” will appear on the 10th-anniversary of Random Access Memories, due out in May.
The 10th-anniversary edition of Daft Punk’s final album, Random Access Memories, is scheduled for a May 12 release. The project will contain 35 minutes of alternative takes, demos, and unfinished cuts. And its centerpiece — a previously unreleased eight-and-a-half minute “documentary track” comprising audio footage of Thomas Bangalter and guest collaborator Todd Edwards sketching out the vocals to “Fragments of Time” — is out today (March 22).
“The Writing of Fragments of Time” is a rare glimpse into the recording process, an experience that is generally obfuscated to maintain an artist’s mystique, especially in the case of a notoriously reclusive duo like Daft Punk.
