Big Thief were the musical guests on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show on Tuesday night. The band took their time on air to debut new song "Vampire Empire." The track has been a staple of Big Thief live sets in the past year but has yet to be formally released. Check out the band giving it an airing on national TV above.
The appearance on Colbert came mid-way through a tour for Big Thief, who are currently making their way across the United States in support of 2022 album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. They will soon make their way to the United Kingdom and Europe for further dates.
Big Thief shared Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You in February last year. It featured the singles "Little Things," "Sparrow," "Change," "Time Escaping," "No Reason," "Spud Infinity," and "Simulation Swarm." Big Thief member James Krivchenia shared a solo album called Blood Karaoke in March. In June, Big Thief announced shows in Israel and quickly canceled them after backlash.
