Watch Little Simz perform “Heart on Fire” on Colbert

Little Simz was Stephen Colbert’s musical guest on The Late Show Monday night (February 20). She played “Heart on Fire” — a standout track from her fifth studio LP, No Thank You — backed by the Harlem Gospel Choir, the B String Quartet, and the Late Show Band. Watch the her powerful performance, in which Simz slowly rises from an armchair to stand center stage in a flowing white gown and deliver the song’s emotionally charged second half.

No Thank You dropped on short notice in December alongside a short film of the same name. Simz’s previous album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, earned her the 2022 Mercury Prize and landed 10th on The FADER’s 50 best albums of 2021 list.
