Listen to Larry June and The Alchemist’s new song, “60 Days”

Bay Area rapper Larry June has teamed up with legendary producer The Alchemist for a smooth new single titled “60 Days.” It’s an extremely chilled-out, three-and-a-half minute jam that places June’s silky, half-sung bars over a nostalgic instrumental that blends a string section, a spacey choir, and a vintage soul guitar lick. It also features a rare verse from Alc, who normally stays behind the boards. “My leather coat is draggin’ in the dirt (Draggin’) / I got buff from baggage-ing the work (Got muscles, man) / I’m at the table, I’m havin’ a dessert / Three-piece suit with the napkin in the shirt,” he raps, emulating the east coast emcees he works with so often. “I’m a big bowl of macaroni (Me) / Know how to spot and catch a phony / And do the Plaxico to myself before the matrimony (Shoot myself).”
“60 Days” comes with a cinematic music video courtesy of Sean Kelly. It starts with “THE GREAT ESCAPE” and “MMXXIII” (2023 in Roman numerals) stretched across the screen in text, perhaps alluding to what the track’s press release promises is “more news coming very soon.” Watch the clip below.
