U.S. Girls, the solo project of prolific artist Meg Remy, will release new album Bless This Mess on February 24. News of the eighth U.S. Girls album arrives alongside details of a headline North American tour and a video for new song "Futures Bet."
In a press release Bless This Mess is described as being an "artistic response to the complexities of motherhood" and was written throughout Remy’s pregnancy and subsequent birth of her twin boys. Closing track "Pump," for example, features a sample of Remy's breast pump. The album includes "So Typically Now" and title track "Bless This Mess," both released in 2022.
Following the release of Bless This Mess U.S. Girls will embark on a headline East Coast tour, alongside opening act Jane Inc. The tour begins April 13 in Montreal and will stop in Brooklyn before closing with two hometown nights at Velvet Underground in Toronto. See below for further details.
The new album follows U.S. Girls' Half Free (2015), In A Poem Unlimited (2018), and 2020's Heavy Light. In 2021 Remy published her memoir, Begin By Telling.
