Rex Orange County, the singer-songwriter born Alexander O’Connor, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman, The Sun reports. O’Connor appeared in Southwark Crown Court today (October 10) and pleaded not guilty to six charges. A three-day trial is expected to take place on January 3.
The alleged assault took place in June in London’s West End. O’Connor is accused of assaulting the woman in a taxi cab and three times the following day in his Notting Hill home.
A representative for Rex Orange County issued the following statement to The FADER: “Alex is shocked by the allegations which he denies and looks forward to clearing his name in court. He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.”
Rex Orange County released his fourth studio album, Who Cares?, in March of this year.
