Rima Sawayama had previously released the title track for her upcoming album, "Hold The Girl." Now, she's shared the music video for it. In the video, directed by Ali Kurr, Sawayama throws herself off the roof of an abandoned house, falling into bed. Each time she tries to escape the seemingly haunted home, she's pulled back inside by a mysterious force.
The video matches the emotional meaning behind the song, as she sings "Sometimes I just wanna run away, leave behind the old me, start again." Sawayama previously said that the song was written after she'd "gone to therapy and had a revelation. I was crying before going into the studio." Watch the video above.
Sawayama is heading on a North American tour in support of the album, kicking it off in November, with stops in New York City and Los Angeles. Hold The Girl arrives on September 16 via Dirty Hit.
