Every year, the Polaris Music Prize awards $50,000 to the best Canadian album released in the last 12 months. Today sees the release of the 2022 shortlist, ten albums selected by a jury of 197 Canadian music industry professionals.
Nominees this year include Destroyer for Labyrinthitis, Charlotte Day Wilson for Alpha (listen to them discuss their projects on The FADER Interview here and here, respectively), Hubert Lenoir's Pictura de Ipse : Musique Directe (we premiered its first single), and Ouri's Frame of a Fauna. The winner will be revealed on September 19 at the Carlu in Toronto.
