Lupe Fiasco drops “Drill Music In Zion”
Listen to the title track from the Chicago rapper’s forthcoming project.
Lupe Fiasco seems like he's in a pretty good place for a rapper with a few years on the clock. He's able to enjoy some unashamed nostalgia grabs, like touring his 2006 debut Food + Liqor while also pursuing new music at his own pace. "Drill Music In Zion" is his latest release and also the title of his next album, which is coming on June 24. The song has no relationship to drill sonically, there's not a warped bassline or 808 drum machine in sight, but it's a cool name for a song and nobody is going to hold that against Lupe. Check it out below.
Drill Music In Zion is Lupe Fiasco's first album since 2018's Drogas Wave. Earlier this year it was revealed that he will be a teacher at MIT in 2023, joining their MLK Visiting Professor Program for the academic year.
