Rodarte always knows the coolest people in music to tap for their campaign shoots and have previously shot everyone from Chloe & Halle, Joanna Newsom, Grimes, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon in their lookbooks. Their new fall 2022 campaign was rolled out on Wednesday and acts as a playlist in its own way, featuring appearances from Charli XCX, Snail Mail, The Linda Lindas, and Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill. The artists all appear as ballerinas and model the brand's a soft pastel colour palette designs for autumn/ winter.
"Obviously we’re designers, but who we cast in the collection also reflects who we are as directors," Kate and Laura Mulleavy told Vogue. (Notably, the duo directed Kirsten Dunst in the 2017 film Woodshock.) "We look for people that inspire us and that we can artistically create with. We approach it in terms of storytelling – looking for people that will bring the world that we’re imagining to life."
The sisters also looked to Hollywood for inspiration, with Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Taylour Page, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Natasha Lyonne, Lana Condor, Joey King, Marlee Matlin, and Janicza Bravo getting involved. Check out a selection of the looks below.
