Forbes has rolled out its annual billionaires list with Rihanna making her debut and fellow artists Jay-Z and Kanye West also making apearances. Rihanna's net worth has swelled to an estimated 1.7 billion thanks, in large part, to ventures outside of music including her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line and the Savage X Fenty lingerie business. This places her at 1,729 on the Forbes list.
Narrowly behind her is Jay-Z, whose worth is estimated at $1.4 billion (2,076) on the Forbes list. His bank balance was boosted in 2021 by the sale of TIDAL to Jack Dorsey's Square, as well as LVMH buying Armand de Brignac champagne.
Sitting above both, however, is Kanye West with an estimated $2 billion worth. Ye's earnings are linked to his Yeezy partnership with Adidas and a lucrative partnership with Gap. He has leaped 200 positions on his 2021 ranking and sits at no. 1,513 on this year's list.
In total there are 87 less billionaires on the 2022 list than there were in 2021, with the overall wealth of the collective billionaires down $400 billion year on year. Tesla founder Elon Musk sits atop the pile with an estimated $219 billion net worth. Behind him, a mere $50 billion short, is Amazon's Jeff Bezos ($171 billion).
