FKA twigs will appear alongside Bill Skarsgård in an upcoming remake of The Crow, Deadline reports. The new version of the 1994 original is to be directed by Rupert Sanders, who previously directed Snow White And The Huntsman and Ghost In The Shell. The latter featured a controversial lead role for Scarlett Johansson
“The Crow is beautiful, dark, poetic and sometimes disturbing,” Sanders told Deadline. “It is a story of love, loss, grief and revenge. It is a great honor to revisit James O’Barr’s iconic comic and reimagine The Crow as a foreboding voice of today.”
The Crow is perhaps best known for lead actor Brandon Lee's death following a prop gun accident on the set of the movie. Three sequels, The Crow: City Of Angels in 1996, The Crow: Salvation in 2000 and The Crow: Wicked Prayer in 2005 followed.
FKA twigs has previous acting experience, having appeared in Honey Boy, the Shia LaBeouf-penned story loosely based on his own experience as a child actor. Earlier this year twigs released CAPRISONGS, a mixtape featuring guests including Rema, Pa Salieu, Shygirl, and The Weeknd.
