Assisted Living movie ceases production after Cardi B pulls out
Filming on the comedy film was due to begin next week.
Cardi B has pulled out of a leading role in upcoming comedy movie Assisted Living leading the producers to scrap the movie, Deadline reports. The film was reportedly due to go into production next week with Deadline reporting Cardi's reason for exiting was that "she is overextended." The FADER has reached out for comment.
Assisted Living would have marked Cardi's first leading role, following smaller parts in Hustlers and F9: The Fast Saga. She was due to play a woman who goes on the run after being accused of a crime she didn't commit. Keen to avoid attention and prove her innocence, the character dons old lady prosthetics and hides out at her grandmother’s retirement home.
The future of Assisted Living appears up in the air with Deadline reporting that cast and crew were told the film has "at least temporarily been scratched" but that "the hope is to put the pieces back together later this year."
Earlier this year Cardi B won a $1M lawsuit against YouTube blogger Tasha K. She also offered to cover the funeral costs for the victims of a fire in her native Bronx, New York.
