Trinidad and Tobago-based artist Jimmy October has shared his new single, "Wake Up." Produced by Tano, the anthemic Afro-soca track is full of affirmations. "Like diamonds, you’re precious, keep shining / Keep your head up, you’re chosen, keep rising," October croons on the track. The single serves as the singer's first release since their 2020 collaboration with soca heavyweight Kes, "Magic."
“I’m celebrating the fact that I woke up this morning," the singer-songwriter said of the release. "I’m celebrating the different vibrations that’s rooted within our music. I’m giving thanks for the blessings that have fallen upon me and in turn putting that energy back out there through sound. I owe that to the universe”
