Singer-songwriter Abra has shared her new single, "Unlock It" alongside Playboi Carti. Featuring bouncy production by the singer herself and Boys Noize, the track serves as her first major-label release since signing to Polo Grounds Music/RCA.
In a statement about the track, Abra shared the meaning behind the song and how she feels about her collaborator. “‘Unlock It’ means so much to me for more reasons than I can count, and as someone very sentimental and nostalgic, it is truly a blessing to be able to unlock the next level of my career with a friend," she said. "I’ve always been so proud of what Carti’s been able to achieve and having the fortune of reuniting with him for this song specifically feels like a trophy to what the song is about — validation for the long winding journey it took to get here and makes me feel a little more at home in this crazy new world I’m about to step into!”
Abra's debut studio album, Rose, dropped back in 2015 via Awful Records and saw a vinyl reissue two years later. Most recently, she appeared on Bad Bunny’s "Sorry Papi" from his 2020 album, El Último Tour Del Mundo.
