Watch Arlo Parks perform “Black Dog” on Fallon

"Black Dog" by Arlo Parks is a tender song about a loyal friend attempting to pull someone from the depths of a deep depression. "It's so cruel / What your mind can do for no reason" Parks coos on the soulful single from her debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams. On Monday evening, she performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and you can watch her rendition above. She starts off alone in a dimly lit void, an appropriate setting given the themes of "Black Dog," but her surroundings eventually (and literally) blossom into something more hopeful.
