Dry Cleaning announce debut album, share “Strong Feelings”
The London-based band will release New Long Leg in April.
British post-punk band Dry Cleaning have announced details of debut album New Long Leg. The album is due on April 2 via 4AD and today's announcement is accompanied by a new song. Scroll down to check out "Strong Feelings" and its video.
Led by Florence Shaw, whose distinctive spoken word vocals are at the heart of their material, Dry Cleaning first emerged in 2019 with debut single "Magic of Meghan." They followed that with two EPs; Sweet Princess and Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks.
Speaking in a press statement about "Strong Feelings, Shaw explained that “it’s about secretly being in love with someone who doesn’t know it, and Brexit’s disruptive role in romantic relationships.”
New Long Leg was recorded over two weeks at Rockfield Studios in rural Wales with PJ Harvey producer John Parish during the summer of 2020. The album will be avaliable digitally and on CD, cassette, standard black vinyl, and limited-edition yellow vinyl.
