Bright Eyes shared a new song, "Miracle of Life," on Friday in support of Planned Parenthood and reproductive rights. Featuring additional vocals from Phoebe Bridgers, the song will be available exclusively on Bandcamp until October 28th.
Frontman Conor Oberst said the track "should not exist in 2020 America," in a statement about the song. "Maybe just a little story about what was, what still is in many parts of the world and what could be again here in this country if the GOP is successful in reshaping the Supreme Court and rolling back all of the hard-fought progress made for reproductive rights in the last 50 years," Oberst continued. "If we all work together and vote, it will make this song sound as irrelevant and outdated as it should."
This coming Sunday, the band, along with artists like Bridgers, Angel Olsen, Weyes Blood, and more, will perform at Planned Parenthood's online Village of Love festival. There is also an online auction, featuring items from Tame Impala, Best Coast, and more running until October 30 with all of its proceeds going directly to Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles and New York.
