Just last week, Phoebe Bridgers announced her newest venture, Saddest Factory, her own imprint via Dead Oceans. Today, the label has revealed its first offering, a new single from rising dream-pop artist Claud called "Gold."
The bubbly track reckons with a dynamic that just isn't working out. “Imagine stepping onto a ship that’s moving back ‘n forth back ‘n forth but perfectly in time," Claud wrote in a press release. "You know you’re sinking but at the same time you’re mesmerized by the way the ship synchronized itself with the sea. I have never been on a sinking ship in the middle of the sea but I have been in a relationship.” It arrives with a Christina Xing-directed video that illustrates the dysfunction with a whimsical etiquette class.
