21 Savage and producer Metro Boomin have the No.1 album in the country with Savage Mode II. The duo's second collaborative project debuted in the top spot of this week's Billboard 200, replacing last week's leader Machine Gun Kelly and his pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall.
Savage Mode II, released on October 2, features guests including Drake and Young Thug in addition to narration by Hollywood icon Morgan Freeman. It earned 171,000 equivalent album units according to Billboard. This figure came predominantly from streams, with the album racking up 200.1 million on-demand streams in its first week of release. Savage Mode II also moved 22,000 physical copies, aided by merch bundles.
The success of the album gives 21 Savage his second No.1 following 2019 solo album I Am > I Was. Metro Boomin's Not All Heroes Wear Capes hit the top spot following its release in October 2018.
BLACKPINK’s debut full-length The Album debuted at No.2 with the K-pop group earning 110,000 equivalent album units. Pop Smoke's former No.1 album Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon continues to be a chart mainstay, rising to No.3 this week ahead of new albums from YG (My Life 4Hunnid 64,000 units) and Bryson Tiller Anniversary 57,000 units) at No.4 and 5 respectively.
