In celebration of his 23rd birthday, and on the heels of a turbulent summer during which he was arrested in Louisville for protesting the murder of Breonna Taylor, Cordae has dropped some new heat: a collaboration with Roddy Ricch called "Gifted." The single, produced by Ray Keys, Bongo, and Cordae himself, finds the Raleigh rapper counting his blessings alongside Ricch and guest vocalist Ant Clemons. It arrives with a @_ColeBennett_-directed video. Check it out below, via Atlantic / Art@War.
"Gifted" marks Cordae's first solo release since 2019's The Lost Boy, as well as his first since officially nixing YBN from his name earlier this month. The group's disbanding was seemingly confirmed by YBN Nahmir, who tweeted "They left this YBN shit in the gutter. Remember that. I’ll turn it up myself." A representative for Cordae had no further comment.
